Chocolate the Bear

Friday after VBS I decided to take the kids to Costco for lunch (where else can you feed 4 people for $7?). The kids quickly spotted this gigantic stuffed Bear (after we ate and decided to meander through the store in search of dessert  ~ aka some sort of sweet sample). Price tag was $30 and I convinced Browder that I was NOT buying this huge bear, and he quickly asked if we could come back to Costco later so he could get his own money and pay for it. I agreed, and Friday evening we did indeed go back to Costco and purchased “the Bear” now known as Chocolate. Do you see the pure joy on all 3 faces?? While Browder paid for the bear, he had to agree to share it with the other 2, as our summer home just isn’t big enough for 3 of these! LOVE the big feet!!

Among the sampling at Costco were these ~ YUMMY! You pop them in the oven or toaster oven for 2-3 minutes and SERVE! No syrup is even needed! My kids love pancakes and frozen waffles and I HATE SYRUP!! Perfect solution!

Jeff brought these (below) home the other day. We had our “walk through” tonight at the new house and we close tomorrow at 2. We will be homeowners again (YIKES) and frankly I am overwhelmed, to say the least. A) If we want to paint anything before we move in, then I need to pick out paint colors in the next day or two. B) What to paint? Mallory’s room and the boys room for sure (which is now PINK). THEN I got on Pinterest and decided that I needed to paint our future office/sewing room a fun color. I’m torn between painting it a fun color, or going with good ole WHITE and letting my fabric and thread (and other things in my head) accessorize. We are also planning to replace all of the cabinets in the entire house, but that is another stress in itself and furthermore, I’ve been told that ain’t happening anytime soon! Furniture arrangement, what goes where, what to do with the mystery room by the kitchen, etc. My head is spinning, and that’s why it’s 11:02 and I’m blogging.

Back to Chocolate, this was the scene Friday night and I could barely take this picture I was laughing so hard! Where is G? you might ask. G is on the floor on a sleeping bag. Chocolate appears to be snoring and is 6 times as big as Browder! Other than the few squabbles because the little ones were slobbering a little on Chocolate, this bear has been highly entertaining and well worth the 30 bucks (out of Browder’s pocket)!!

Have a great week! I have 4 cute new AC designs to sample and will try to get them done first thing in the morning!

one.of.those.days.

Yesterday was one of those days. You know what I’m talking about! The stress of house buying got to me around 11:00. I had a minor meltdown, then went to Mallory’s class party and the afternoon was more of the same. I found THIS in the kids sink. You might think it looks like a sink of simple bubbles. It took like an hour to get all the bubbles out! No telling how much soap was involved in this experiment.

Before or after the sink (I can’t remember), I heard a crash in the den and found THIS! I won’t name any names but my tallest child thought it was a good idea to lunge across the couch. Lamp hit floor. You know the rest! There is a huge gash in the shade from the broken lightbulb or else I would have salvaged it!

Why not top off this lovely day with some yummy Kraft Macaroni & Cheese for dinner? It’s what all moms look forward to after a day like today, right?? Especially on our good green plastic china!

Today has been a much better day. I try not to stress about buying a house but about every 5th day it all caves in on me. So many important decisions and I know GOD knows which house we’re going to buy and that “it’s just a house”! So far no bubbly sinks, broken lamps and I already know what we’re having for dinner and it ‘ain’t’ mac n cheese!!

On to fabric! A while back I won a contest because I referred the most people to a Facebook page! I got a gift certificate for winning, so I finally got around to ordering and I received my yummy fabric this week! LOVE.IT.ALL!! Because I need more fabric. Anyway, this all came from Whimsical Fabrics which is on Facebook and THIS website! Super cute stuff and it came all neatly and cutely packaged! I was going to write on the pics what each one was, but you can check out her website and see for yourself!

I’m a big fan of stripes and polka dots! Love the mod looking flowers too!

LOVE all of these and I made a thread order yesterday from Kens Sewing Center to add to my orange/peachy collection for some of these.

The middle I already had, but have used so much of it I ordered more. It’s from the Riley Blake Quite Contrary collection. These may actually be all Riley Blake? Not sure!

Love this cute stripe with the turquoise and red!

Tomorrow is the last day of school for my little ones. Browder finishes up next Thursday and then we’re home free for a couple of weeks until VBS. Looking forward to SLEEPING IN and not having to drag B out of the bed at 6:45 to get ready for school. Back to work!!

MAY!!!!

I promise I’m still here! May is a crazy month at our house with birthdays (May 8 – Mother’s Day too, 10, 11 & 25), anniversary (12), soccer (ended last night), several golf tournaments (Jeff), and SCHOOL IS ALMOST OUT! If we did not keep a calendar we would never make it anywhere. I have pictures for a decent blog post on fabric, and will get that one out soon!

Here are 2 sample tees I have available – both are Kiddy Kats brand size 5/6. I did one of these for Garrison, but he just turned 5 so in reality he needs a size 6 or bigger. I can either squeeze him in to these or pass them along to someone a little smaller! If you’re interested, please email me (rosemarygulledge@appliquecafe.com or @gmail.com). I’d like to sell them as is and can strike a better deal if they go to the same place! I also have more of these blanks if I could line up the right person for more sample tees!

Did I mention we are in temporary housing? Our summer home is great! However, we are back in the process of trying to buy a permanent home and our “goal” is to move to said home by the end of June. That way we can move, unpack, get settled, enjoy a little summer, etc. before school starts back up in August! SO>>>>>> I am back to taking VERY VERY VERY FEW FEW FEW customer orders! I took some stuff in the past few weeks and am still trying to get it all done on top of end-of-school madness!

Better post coming soon, promise!!
